Long Tom Air Leg / Drill Carrier
General Info
The Long Tom Air Leg can be mounted on or used in conjunction with any number of machines already in use, or we can build a machine or mounting that will suit your specific requirements.
The Long Tom relieves the operator of back-breaking jackleg lifting to steady the drill in operating position. Adjustments to the balancing cylinder air pressure allows the Long Tom to be held at any desired height, and movement up or down is accomplished simply by pushing down or lifting the leg -- with one hand -- to the new position.
The specially designed “Gooseneck” allows drilling at any angle. No longer is it necessary to hold the jackleg while drilling rib or lifter holes, or manually pulling steel on declines or ramps.
The Long Tom will accomplish more drilling with less fatigue to the operator, and this means more holes drilled at a faster pace with a far less overall cost.
These units can be fabricated in rubber-tire self-propelled, rail-mounted, or our new crawler-style configuration. The approximate face coverage is 8w’ x 11h’ standard, or increased with options.
